She didn’t even flinch.
I shot her, and she didn’t flinch or cry out. She just took it. Later she tells me she was taught to take the pain. How horrible is that? It’s bad enough her father turned her into an assassin as a kid. He shot her, actually put bullets in her, until she didn’t flinch anymore!
But I envy her, too. Because she can take the pain and move on. Because whenever I think of Dad, lying there in the blood, and I was too late to save him...
I wish I could take the pain, too.
